ORIGEN
"A structural dialogue between matter and light"
Materiality and modular lighting
We developed Origen as a technical exploration into the intersection of concrete, wood, and light. The project centers on a primary wooden cone that acts as a structural anchor for various interchangeable shades. By playing with different sizes, colors, and textures, the system allows for the creation of diverse lighting typologies within a single design language.
The internal architecture of the lamp is designed for maximum versatility, accommodating both integrated LEDs and traditional bulbs. Despite the varying light sources, the fundamental elements remain consistent: the wooden cone, the shade, the cable, and the electronic components, resulting in a cohesive yet adaptable lighting solution.

Functional simplicity through structural details
One of the most distinctive features of the lamp is how the electrical components and the structure interact. The cable descends through the wooden cone and forms a functional knot that supports the entire assembly. After this structural point, the cable returns into the shade to connect with the light source. This visible knot is not merely decorative; it is the essential detail that holds the piece together, celebrating the honesty of the materials and the assembly process.
The value of experimental research
We approach these types of projects as open experiments where we can test ideas without the immediate pressure of commercial constraints. For our studio, the process is as significant as the final result. These explorations allow us to gain technical knowledge and material insights that are later integrated into professional commissions. Origen represents this freedom of thought, where the absence of boundaries leads to unexpected and refined design languages.
