KT-1 COFFEE TABLE
"Where structural honesty meets the soul of artisanal woodturning"
A functional extension of the Kaaja heritage
The KT-1 coffee table was developed as a natural evolution of the Kaaja furniture series for the Swedish firm By.Enströms. While it stands as an independent piece, it retains the core DNA of the collection: a profound respect for wood and the storied traditions of Tibro. The design language harmonizes soft, rounded shapes with clean straight lines, resulting in a timeless piece that integrates effortlessly into contemporary living spaces. Like its modular counterparts, the KT-1 emphasizes smooth transitions and the inherent warmth of natural materials.

Versatility through an integrated tray system
A defining feature of the KT-1 is its innovative lower storage solution. The structure incorporates a rack system consisting of two wooden bars that support two independent trays. This design offers dual functionality: the trays can remain as a permanent part of the table’s lower shelf or be removed for individual use. When the trays are taken away, the support bars transform into an elegant magazine rack, providing extra utility while maintaining the visual lightness of the table.
Refined details as the core of design
In the KT-1, every detail serves both an aesthetic and a structural purpose. We meticulously studied the organic forms to ensure they merge seamlessly with the straight edges, creating a sense of fluidity. The trays feature specific paths designed to fit securely onto the support bars, ensuring that the mechanism is intuitive, stable, and durable for everyday use.
Lathe marks as a signature of authenticity
The most distinctive aspect of the KT-1 is the way the legs penetrate the board to become visible on the top surface. Rather than concealing the industrial process, we chose to leave the original lathe marks visible on the head of each leg. These marks, created by the tools that secure the wood during the turning process, serve as a testament to the artisanal journey of each piece. This intentional detail celebrates the craftsmanship behind the table, ensuring that every unit is unique and carries the story of its own creation.
